Government and Industry Need to Adopt Newer Technology Rapidly

Singapore-based Business Excellence & Research Group (BERG), hosted its signature real estate event - Icons of Spaces – the 4th BERG Real Estate Awards on Sep 13, 2017 at the Raffles Town Club in Singapore. The Summit & Awards, in its fourth year included Project Consultants, Structural Engineers & Infrastructure Companies in addition to Developers, Architects & Interior Designers. The summit aimed at highlighting Sustainable Development was held to coincide with the International Green Building Conference (IGBC), since BERG Singapore was one of the supporting partners for the IGBC this year.

The Gala Awards Nite provided an ideal platform for industry professionals to come together and deliberate on the challenges around Affordable & Smart housing solutions. The panel discussion at the summit included Mr. Daniel Phua – Regional Industry Head, Architecture-Engineering-Construction at Autodesk, Ms. Maria Benita Regala – National Housing Authority Philippines, Ar. Prem Nath – Mumbai and Mr. P. V. Mohan – Director Commercial, Kirby Building Systems India Pvt. Ltd. and moderated by Mr. Vishwesh Iyer, Managing Partner, BERG Singapore.

Based on a selection process that encompasses integrity, transparency, consistency and fairness, the IOS Awards provide global benchmark and recognition,” said Mr. Vishwesh Iyer, Managing Partner, BERG Singapore.

Phoenix Group Hyderabad were awarded the Icons of Spaces Award - Emerging Premium Gated Community for their project Halcyon, followed by Coimbatore-based Ananya Shelters Pvt. Ltd’s Nana Nani homes - Senior Citizen Homes of the year and Gera Developments, Pune – Residential Developer of the Year. Kirby Building Systems India were awarded - Commercial Project & Industrial Project of the year for their projects Phoenix Spaces & CIPLA respectively. The Award for Leading Structural Rehabilitation Company was presented to Dhirendra Group of Company, Mumbai, Award for Leading Industrial Turnkey Project Constructions Company to Ashok Constructions, Pune and Themed Project of the year – Commercial Award to Nikitha BuildTech, Bangalore. Mr. Suresh Chukkapalli, Chairman Phoenix Group was awarded Real Estate Professional of the Year at the summit.

Ar. Prem Nath from Prem Nath Associates Mumbai was presented the Life Time Achievement, followed by Oscar & Ponni Architects, Chennai for Residential Township of the Year – SARE Jubilee Dewy Terraces and Institutional Project of the year – St. Bede’s School & Auditorium.

The Icons of Spaces 2017 Award for Themed Project of the Year was presented to Ar. Shagufta Rao – AIS Designs, Mumbai for the project Olympiodorous, Best Workspace Interiors for the project Globant by Ar. Alhad Gore from Beyond Design Architect & Consultants, Mumbai, Best Residential Interiors – Essesnce of Luxury & Life to Goldmine Project Consultants Pvt. Ltd. Mumbai.

Architect Rajiv Khanna & Sabeena Khanna from Studio KIA, Gurgaon were awarded Commercial Project of the Year & Best Concept for Unbuilt Project for their projects The Umrao Boutique Hotel and Neptune at Aquapolis respectively. The Award for Residential Project of the Year was presented to Pali Palms by SEZA Architects & Interior Designers, Mumbai.

The BERG Real Estate Awards were introduced by Singapore-based organisation Business Excellence & Research Group Pte Ltd in 2014. The Awards, now called the ICONS OF SPACES, turns the spotlight on the high calibre work within the real estate industry, encompassing construction, architecture and interior design. With a professionally run evaluation system, they also bring the real estate industry of the participating countries to the world stage.
