UTStarcom India Telecom Pvt. Ltd., a global telecommunications infrastructure provider, today announced its plan to increase its investment in India at the event âNext Gen Innovation Summit 2017- and Beyond!â, organized by UTStarcom Inc.
While speaking at the event Mr. Tim Ti, Chief Executive Officer, UTStarcom Inc. said, âWe have been committed to the Indian communications industry and have been making the required investments in India. The Company would be increasing its investment in India so as to further consolidate its presence in the Indian telecom infrastructure market.â
The Company would be making investments in setting up its local manufacturing and R&D. Further investments will be used in increasing its equipment portfolio and scaling up its manpower in India.
âBesides focusing on increasing the equipment portfolio, we have decided to localize the âoptical transport and broadband solutions for Indian market,â said Dr. Zhaochen Huang, Chief Operating Officer, UTStarcom Inc.
While giving his keynote address on the future of broadband and Digital India, Mr. Anupam Shrivastava, Chairman & Managing Director, BSNL said, âBSNL together with its technology partners will play an important role in Digital India campaign launched by Government of India.â
The summit showcased UTStarcomâs next generation solutions and demonstrated their full range of next generation solutions, like SDN, NG âPTN, SyncRing, Carrier Grade Wi-Fi solution, IMS platform and NGN Access.

Recently, UTStarcom India has supplied access points for hotspots and data off-load across North and East India. UTStarcom has played a vital role in NGN project with BSNL. The Company has upgraded BSNL network to offer next generation multimedia services to its customers, which entailed migrating existing PSTN/ISDN customers to Next Generation Network (NGN) to enable supplementary services using Internet Protocol (IP) along with basic telephony.
