WizIQ Now Has 4 Offices Worldwide

PR Newswire | 06 Nov, 2013
RALEIGH, North Carolina: WizIQ, an online education platform, announces the opening of its fourth office in Bangalore, India. This initiative is an important milestone in the support of WizIQ's overall growth and bringing in varied skill-sets and talents that the area is recognized for. The new office provides plenty of room for growth while boosting the company's professional image in the global market.

"We are seeing a ton of momentum with our 3 million learners and 250,000 teachers worldwide. It's an excellent time to be opening new operations. We are excited about opening our new office in Bangalore, as the city is India's IT capital and it is time for WizIQ to be there," said Harman Singh, CEO of WizIQ.

This will be WizIQ's third office in India and fourth office globally, adding to its presence in Hyderabad and Mohali in India and Raleigh, North Carolina, in US.

WizIQ has also recently hired new VP Engineering from Yahoo to lead the engineering and IT infrastructure functions for WizIQ and a Chief Design Officer from the best design school in the World, Georgia Institute of Technology, to create user-experience flows.

In January this year, WizIQ raised $4 million from education-focused private equity firm Kaizen and German media major Bertelsmann. Harman Singh said that the company has served more than 3 million students and 250,000 teachers in over 100 countries since starting operations.

WizIQ has set itself apart from the edu-tech companies by focusing on teacher-and-learner-centred methods instead of just providing gigabytes and gigabytes of content. The platform offers a course delivery system for teachers, trainers, colleges and universities, high schools and training & tutoring centres around the world.

A lot of educators are also coming forward to conduct Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) on WizIQ. WizIQ's Virtual Classroom software works cross-platform - on PCs, iOS and Android devices. It can also be integrated with learning management systems like Moodle or Blackboard or with an organization's own website through WizIQ APIs.
