ASTANA, Kazakhstan: The official presentation of the Presidential Professional Sports Club "Astana" was held in Astana on July 4.
Organized by the end of 2012, the Presidential Club "Astana" brings together under its own brand the best Kazakhstani sports clubs - a world-class Professional Cycling Team "Pro Team Astana", Basketball and Football Clubs, Hockey Superclub "Barys", "Astana Dakar Team", boxers of "Astana Arlans", the teams of water and horse polo, a unique project for the development of the national wrestling "Kazakhstan Barys". Under the banner of "Astana" Professional Club also perform a two-time Olympic weightlifting champion Ilya Ilyin and world championship medalist in figure skating Denis Ten.
"Astana" PPSK is a modern association meeting the latest trends in the field of sports management association, designed to strengthen public support for sport and the positive image of Kazakhstan in the world. There are enough examples of successful multi-functional sports clubs in the world. Suffice it to recall the sports giants such as Real Madrid, CSKA Moscow and Barcelona.
That is why the event was attended by legendary Portuguese footballer Luis Figo, the best player in the world by FIFA (2001), who played for clubs such as "Barcelona" and "Real Madrid" and a distinguished German football goalkeeper of "Bayern Munich", Oliver Kahn.
Luis Figo has expressed confidence that the Club would provide a powerful incentive for the development of sport in Kazakhstan.
Congratulating the members of the Presidential Club "Astana", Oliver Kahn advised the athletes: "Fight with all your force in every game, that's so the cups are won. Remember that each of your wins - it's a joy to your fans."
As President of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev noted: "The project was supported by the world's leading experts in the field of sports consulting and will be developed in future in partnership with them."

Athletes of "Astana" Club also received congratulations from the legend of the world of hockey, a forward of "Washington Capitals" NHL Club, Alexander Ovechkin. According to him: "The government support for the development of sport is very important. Financial stability increases the strength and independence of the Club, and will help the Presidential Club "Astana" to carry the banner of victory in future."
During the event, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev was awarded the title of Honorary President of "Astana" Club, as the mastermind of this Club.
More than 30 Kazakhstani Olympic champions, stars of world sport, managers and patrons of world famous sports clubs, the nation's leadership became the participants and guests of this presentation.
