Learn, Design and Develop With the 1st Annual India Game Developers Conclave 2013

MUMBAI: UBM India announced today that it will hold its India Game Developers Conclave (IGDcon) launch event from 7-8 August, 2013 at Bengaluru. The summit has been envisioned along the lines of the GDC (Game Developers Conference) - the world's largest and longest-running professionals-only game industry event, currently in its 26th year. GDC is produced by UBM TechWeb, with successful editions in Europe and China, as well as an online-only version. The launch of IGDcon is consistent with the mega-event's philosophy of defining market innovations and future vision, providing insight into the future of gaming in emerging markets.

This day marks the official launch of what is expected to be India's foremost platform for video game professionals across the spectrum, as well as unveiling UBM India's venture into the B2B gaming industry.

"In building IGDcon, we have set out to create a truly unique gaming experience that is in synch with what the market needs. UBM India will endeavour to bring forth innovations while ensuring a cutting-edge conference programme for this industry. All of this will be integrated into a unique experience, which will serve as a forum for gaming professionals as well as students to explore opportunities, expand their reach, and analyze ongoing trends in the national scene," said Badri Narayan, Conference Chair of IGDcon.

Some key features of IGDcon include:

  • Two-day conference and expo on game development and related technologies.
  • Over 800+ attendees expected.
  • Keynote theatre featuring leading industry speakers.
  • Parallel conference tracks and specialized workshops that will provide valuable insight into the game creation process.
  • An expo showcasing relevant game development tools, platforms, and services critical to the market's growth.
  • Combined streams including panels, tutorials, and round-table discussions on a comprehensive selection of topics by leading industry experts.
  • Representation from key players offering leading products and services.
  • Recognizing upcoming talent in the field, and providing independent developers a chance to showcase their skills and gain valuable exposure.
  • Evening networking reception for all attendees.

IGDcon presents a rare opportunity to hear the most successful developers, foremost designers, top artists, and producers talk about what it takes to make games, simulations and virtual worlds that work. At other sessions, the tracks will include topics that teach professionals new skills, engaging and training the workforce through a sharing of knowledge gained over years of experience.

Nominations are invited for IGDcon. Call for papers starts from 22nd Jan 2013.

Call for Papers Process: IGDcon aims to encourage seasoned industry professionals to help grow the industry by sharing their skills and guiding those eager to learn. Read more about the submission process at http://www.igdcon.in/callforpaper.aspx.

At IGDcon, attendees will rub shoulders with industry pioneers and engage in one-on-one discussion with experts, hear about the latest technologies, and see how the Indian market is slowly growing into a force to be reckoned with. Conference keynotes will cover present-day opportunities and challenges, as well as provide a peek into what the future holds for Indian video gamers.

If you are a producer, designer, artist, programmer, or tester, or currently studying to be one, you will learn what it takes to make a fundamentally solid and appealing product, while having loads of fun doing it - after all, that's what gaming is all about!
