UBM Brings Together Organisations for Successful Partnerships

LONDON: UBM plc today launches Business4Better UK 2013. A 2-day programme of workshops, seminars, immersive experiences and case-studies will bring together experts, practitioners, thought-leaders and agents of change. The event on 9-10 July at the National Hall, Olympia, London, is designed to offer inspiration, motivation and practical help to anyone seeking to create successful and meaningful partnerships.

UBM plc Chief Executive Officer David Levin commented: "The best way for us to support the communities in which we do business is by doing what we do best - running events. Business4Better UK is part of our Community Engagement Series around the world, through which we harness the commercial and professional expertise of our employees and business partners in a not-for-profit environment to make a real difference. These events highlight the growing importance of these kinds of partnerships, which benefit all parties involved - this is the future of sustainable and responsible business."

Business4Better UK is free to attend for not-for-profits, social enterprises and businesses. The event is designed for anyone already thinking about the benefit of partnerships, or who are looking for advice and support before they take their first steps.

Over 150 not-for-profit organisations and social enterprises will be invited to showcase their work and demonstrate 'live' why business should engage with them, with the aim of partnering with businesses. Additionally, visitors will be able to explore how to progress a partnership further and meet those that are looking to start new conversations.

The National Council for Voluntary Organisations (NCVO), the largest umbrella body for the voluntary and community sector in England, have been confirmed as official partner for Business4Better UK.

"Charities have long been working with businesses for mutual benefit but partnership working isn't always easy. We are delighted to be partnering with UBM on Business4Better UK where charities can learn from one another on how to get the most out of cross-sector partnerships, and businesses can understand the many benefits of working with charities as well as their specific needs," added, Sir Stuart Etherington, Chief Executive, NCVO.

If you are an organisation working within the not-for-profit or social enterprise sector and would like to be part of Business4Better UK this year, please visit the website http://www.business4better.org.uk for more information on how to take part.
