NEW DELHI: This is one pitch Virat Kohli wouldn't mind hitting more centuries on. The swashbuckling new hero of Indian cricket is batting on a different wicket for Men's Health magazine's September issue-a never-before-seen kind of fashion shoot for its bi-annual Guide to Style section titled 'Real Men, Real Style'! Shot by photographer AJ Raina, the 15-page section has Kohli modeling for the cover and a photo-feature inside. Talking of his personal style, this is what the national icon had to say: "I don't follow any fashion trends. If you are fit enough, you will be able to carry off almost anything. A strong body will give you a strong mind and that confidence will show in your swagger. There is nothing more impressive than a great attitude which you can wear on your sleeve. But you must remember the difference between being rude and being confident." Incidentally, Kohli was picked up by Men's Health in 2008 for his first fashion shoot ever.
Says Jamal Shaikh, editorial director of Men's Health: "Men's Health first noticed Virat Kohli in 2008, when he was playing the Under-19 World Cup, and roped him in for a fashion shoot. Along with fellow cricketer Pradeep Sangwan, that was Kohli's first fashion shoot ever!"
Says Kohli about his maiden shoot : "I still remember the first time I shot for MH. It was my first shoot and I was very excited. In hindsight, it turned out to be my stepping stone into the world of glamour."
Other highlights of the issue include a special report on e-fashion, with news channel Headline Today's managing editor, Rahul Kanwal, trying clothes completely sourced online, and a heart-wrenching story by supermodel Freddy Daruwala on how a survive a potentially debilitating accident teaches you how to deal with pain, and survive pity.
