American Express Invites Cardmembers to Ritu Kamur Show

DELHI, India: On Thursday, February 2nd 2012, American Express invited Platinum Charge Cardmembers to legendary designer Ritu Kumar's much anticipated couture show "PANCHVASTRA," capturing the eternal essence of a woman through textile, theatre and film. The gala evening was presented by American Express at The Aman New Delhi on the hotel's elegant outdoor lawns.

American Express leveraged the excitement around the fashion show to also announce the inclusion of Ritu Kumar's couture line in Membership Rewards First Collection. Now, for the first time, Platinum Cardmembers will be able to redeem their Membership Rewards points for Ritu Kumar designer wear.

The evening began with a pre-show interaction with Ritu Kumar designed exclusively for our Cardmembers, during which the designer shared insights on the new collection she would reveal later that night. The special access opportunity to connect with Mrs. Kumar over cocktails was a huge hit with our Cardmembers! Post the exclusive interaction, Cardmembers was led to the Aman lawns to join other guests, where stunning show then took place.

This year, "The Collection by Ritu Kumar" was a representation of the many personalities in a woman, portrayed through central characters of Indian epics. Video mapping and projections on the faÃ§ade of the hotel bought an element of drama and mystique to the evening. Bollywood actresses Sushmita Sen, Kiron Kher, Dia Mirza and Seema Biswas walked the ramp as "show stoppers," while other celebrities like Anita Ratnam, Neesha Singh, Rana Gill, AD Singh and Rakesh Thakore watched in the audience with our Cardmembers.

We received RSVPs from 150 Platinum Cardmembers for this complimentary event; additional guests of Ritu Kumar and the Aman were also present. Our sales team attended and sourced 24 leads and referrals from the guests.
