UBM TechWeb Launches 2012 Cloud Connect Events

PR Newswire | 29 Sep, 2011
UBM TechWeb Launches 2012 Cloud Connect Events in Chicago & Bangalore; Registration Now Open for Cloud Connect Santa Clara 2012

SAN FRANCISCO: UBM TechWeb today announced the expansion of the Cloud Connect event series to Chicago and Bangalore, India.  Cloud Connect, the premier technology event for defining the cloud computing industry, will expand to two new locations in order to further cloud adoption and drive the growth and innovation in the cloud computing market.  Kicking off the event series in 2012, Cloud Connect Santa Clara will take place February 13-16, at the Santa Clara Convention Center. Registration is now open and more information is available at: http://cloudconnectevent.com/.

As a result of the success with Cloud Connect Santa Clara, featuring a sold out show floor in 2011 and a 50 percent increase in attendance from 2010, UBM TechWeb is expanding the event series to serve the large and growing technology markets in Chicago and Bangalore.  Each event will feature the industry's most comprehensive educational programs, including visionary keynotes, in-depth workshops, and practitioner-led case studies, as well as a vibrant exhibition with the leading technology providers.  New to the Santa Clara event this year, Cloud Connect will also feature Carrier Cloud Forum.  Hosted by Light Reading and Heavy Reading, Carrier Cloud Forum provides high-quality education and peer-to-peer interaction on the core issues around building a cloud infrastructure and developing a cloud services business model.

"Cloud Connect has positioned itself as the leading vendor neutral cloud event by bringing together the most important audiences and producing the highest quality cloud content," said Steve Wylie, Cloud Connect General Manager.  "We are thrilled to build on our leadership position by expanding Cloud Connect into these important new markets and continue our reputation for producing world-class technology conferences."

Cloud Connect is a cloud computing event series produced by UBM TechWeb, intended to define and frame cloud computing discussions for IT, business technology executives, developers and service providers. The Santa Clara event proved to attract high-quality strategic level decision makers, 87 percent of which were involved in the cloud purchasing process and over 70 percent had executive or manager level responsibility.  Furthermore, 80 percent attended the event to see new products with strong levels of interest across all key cloud areas:  PaaS, IaaS, SaaS, Development, Infrastructure, Storage, Security, and Performance.  Given the strength of the 2011 Santa Clara event and UBM TechWeb's deep involvement in the cloud computing market, now is the time to expand the event portfolio to include live events in Chicago and Bangalore.

Chicago is the center of the USA's global trade market and is headquarters to 27 Fortune 500 companies, ranking second only to New York City.  In addition, Bangalore is ranked among the top four technology clusters of the world and is well known as the IT capital of India. According to India based research firm Zinnov, the Indian cloud computing market will experience a tenfold growth by 2015.  Given market data and the growth of cloud computing, Chicago and Bangalore are the choice locations for expanding the Cloud Connect event brand.
