AUSTIN, Texas: International Studies Abroad (ISA), an international education provider based in
Austin, Texas, proudly announces two new study abroad opportunities for North American university students in
Hyderabad, India and
Beijing, China.
ISA's Courses with Indian Students program will be hosted at the University of Hyderabad, recently ranked by the Indian Academy of Sciences as the number one Indian university for research and development. Students in the program will be able to take a variety of classes at the university with local students, as all courses are taught in English. Language courses will also be available for students interested in studying Hindi, Sanskrit, Telugu, or Urdu.
"All ISA programs are based at host universities abroad and provide greater access to the culture and unparalleled student support. The academic programs offered at these new sites will continue in this proud ISA tradition," says Bill Clabby, Executive Vice President of Research and Special Programs.
Beginning in summer 2011, ISA will offer a six-week Indian Culture and Society program focusing on the study of India through classes on Indian philosophy, politics, history and the Hindi language. In order to develop a greater understanding of India as a whole, ISA's on-site staff will lead students on excursions to such historic and important cities as Delhi, Agra, Jaiput, Mumbai, Warangal and Bidar.
ISA's Courses with Chinese Students program will offer a wide variety of courses in English and Chinese at Tsinghua University, recently ranked as the number one university in mainland China by China University Ranking. This semester-long program beginning in fall 2011 will give participants the opportunity to improve language skills and participate in activities designed to enhance knowledge of Chinese culture.
For students particularly interested in improving their Mandarin language skills, the five-week summer Intensive Chinese Language program at Tsinghua University offers 120 contact hours of in-depth language instruction. All courses are taught by university faculty from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature.
