HONG KONG: The 12th China International
Optoelectronic Exposition broke records
during its highly successful run Sept. 6-9, 2010, at Shenzhen Convention and
Exhibition Center. The world-renowned exposition, which presents the most
advanced optoelectronic technologies and innovations, featured more than 2,300
exhibitors, up 10 percent over 2009.
More than 85,000 design engineers and purchasing managers, a 20 percent
increase from 2009, pored over the latest technologies and products in the
80,000 sqm exhibition area. The total display area, the number of exhibitors,
and the proportions of international exhibitors and buyers of CIOE 2010 were
all record-breaking highs.
CIOE comprises three concurrent sub-expositions, focusing on optical
communications, sensors, laser and infrared applications; precision optics;
and LEDs.
This year, the 15th International IC-China Conference & Exhibition
(IIC-China, http://www.english.iic-china.com ) co-located with CIOE for the
first time. IIC-China 2010 featured mainland China's very first live product
teardowns plus conferences on LED, green power and medical electronics, in
addition to a range of technical application courses and market trend forums.
The enhanced conference sessions drew full-house attendances with design
innovators eager to learn about the latest technologies and products available
from local and international exhibitors.
Global Sources' Chairman and CEO, Merle A. Hinrichs, said:
"Optoelectronics has become a key driver of growth in the information industry,
and the sector generates much enthusiasm for innovation among companies and
R&D specialists around the world. With support from the Chinese government,
the development of the optoelectronics industry in China has also accelerated
in recent years. I believe the CIOE show will continue expanding to reach
further new heights in coming years.
"Global Sources is CIOE's international strategic partner. Together, we
will continue to create an even more professional optoelectronics exposition
of the highest international standard, facilitating the deep integration of
technology, markets and information for the global optoelectronics industry."
Qi Rang, Vice President of the China Association for Science and
Technology (CAST), said: "CIOE is a unique platform for fundamental
researchers, technical researchers and industry vendors to exchange ideas and
find the latest products and solutions. I believe the show will keep getting
better and bigger." Qi is also the Deputy Secretary of the Party Leadership
Group and Secretary of the CAST Secretariat.
Executive Vice President of the China Electronic Chamber of Commerce, Wang
Ning, said: "After 12 years of development, CIOE has become the largest
optoelectronics event in China. We are delighted to see the integration of
optoelectronic technology and electronics information technology at this
must-attend show. CIOE always arouses the industry's awareness for greater
innovation."
One of the exhibitors, General Manager of Dongguan Fortune Electronics
Materials Co., Wang Yuegeng, said: "This is the 10th consecutive time that
Fortune has participated at CIOE. You will realize at the show the dramatic
development of the LED industry in the past decade. Ten years ago, LED
lighting was only a concept. Nowadays, it has become a necessity for many
households and is closely bound up with human living."
