PONTYCLUN, MID GLAMORGAN, Wales: Domino's Pizza in Pontyclun, Llantrisant
(http://www.dominos-pontyclun.co.uk/), South Wales, were delighted to
welcome international rugby star and Wales rugby captain, Ryan Jones to the
official launch of the brand new store.
The Wales skipper did the honours at Monday night's event by cutting the
ribbon and announcing the new branch of Domino's Pizza officially open for
business.
A big crowd gathered at the launch party of the new Domino's Pizza store
where onlookers were treated to free pizza, balloons and other freebies.
Pontyclun youth rugby team also turned out to the opening event wearing their
new Domino's hoodies as the new store has agreed to sponsor the local team
for the upcoming season.
The eye-catching Domino's Ferrari (http://www.dominos-pontyclun.co.uk/dominos-ferrari/) provided the centrepiece to the launch party. The luxurious sports car, provided by leading limousine hire company Limo Broker (http://www.limobroker.co.uk/), has undergone a full vinyl wrap so the car is now covered in full Domino's Pizza branding to ensure the word gets out across the South Wales area that the new Pontyclun store is open and ready for business.
Domino's Pizza Pontyclun (http://www.facebook.com/DominosPontyclun) is committed to becoming the fastest home pizza delivery service in South Wales (without breaking any speed limits!) so the bosses at the outlet decided the use of a Ferrari in their advertising campaign would help demonstrate the store's dedication to providing a speedy pizza delivery service.
Rugby star Ryan Jones got into the spirit of the event and agreed to don a full Domino's Pizza uniform complete with apron, hat and name badge. As a keen home cook, Ryan was eager to try his hand at a spot of pizza making, although when asked if he'd made a pizza before he admitted, "probably not since school!" The 29-year-old sportsman succeeded in creating his own Domino's pizza from scratch, even making the base using fresh dough.
The Ospreys player admitted he's not a fan of plain cheese and tomato pizzas, calling them "a waste of a good pizza". If you want to impress this rugby star in the pizza stakes you'll need to a serve up a "spicy and meaty" pizza, the more toppings the better!
As part of the grand opening, a lucky Domino's customer in Pontyclun had the honour of having their order hand-delivered by Ryan Jones in the unique Domino's Ferrari. After his stint as a pizza delivery (http://www.pizzanews.co.uk/) driver, we asked Ryan if he could have anyone in the world to deliver his pizza, who would it be? The sports star opted for X-Factor Judge Cheryl Cole first off, before swapping his answer interestingly, to Mongolian Emperor, Genghis Khan.
The celebrations to mark the opening of the new store in South Wales don't stop there, the Pontyclun branch of Domino's is offering an exclusive buy one get one free offer for medium & large pizza collections from the outlet. This special offer is available for a limited time only, so you'll need to be quick to make the most of this great discount.
