NEW YORK: Gear Up, part of the family of Thomson Reuters Certification and Continuing Professional Education (CPE) solutions for tax and accounting professionals, has created a dynamic live seminar titled "Assisting Small Business from A to Z."
The course, worth eight CPE credits and held in more than a dozen cities in the US, teaches tax professionals and their small business clients practical methods to weather the economy, while providing them with a thorough understanding of the recent major changes to tax laws affecting these companies and their accountants.
"Small businesses are America's lifeblood, and this year several tax bills are expected to impact these businesses," said Ken Koskay, senior vice president and general manager of Certification at the Tax & Accounting business of Thomson Reuters. "A to Z not only covers recent changes to the bills, but this course was also designed to help CPAs grow revenue, expand their client base, and provide more thorough consulting services for their clients."
"Assisting Small Business from A to Z" covers taxation, forms for legal entities, capitalization, and other considerations necessary to advise small business clients. Additional topics discussed during this one-day seminar include:
* Opinion financing * Raising capital in a difficult market * Resolving credit issues * Lease versus buy * How to analyze financial statements * Key tax issues * Maximizing cash flow * E-business * Employee versus independent contractor
"The small business owners and the accountants who serve them need expert advice, now more than ever," said Koskay. "A to Z helps practitioners gain a deeper understanding of how they can help small business clients solve a host of problems brought about by a difficult economy."
To register for the seminar, call 800-231-1860.
