Victron Energy B.V. introduces New Quattro 10000 48V

PR Newswire | 19 Aug, 2010
ALMERE (The Netherlands): The Victron Quattro series has reached a peak: the powerful Quattro 10kVA. This is the first 10kVA unit produced by Victron Energy B.V. (http://www.victronenergy.com/). Using a Quattro makes a separate transfer switch superfluous. The result: less wiring, easier to install and less costs. The new Quattro 10kVA makes it possible to generate even more energy.

All in one:

The Quattro 10000 is a combined inverter/charger with two AC inputs. One for mains and one for a generator. Or in the case of two generators: one for each generator. A transfer switch between two AC sources is therefore not needed. This integrated system is what makes the Quattro so unique, just like the earlier models, the Quattro 3kVA, 5kVA and 8kVA. In comparison with a conventional system, many devices are integrated into one.

Two AC Outputs:

The main output has no-break functionality. In the event of a grid failure, or shore or generator power being disconnected, the Quattro takes over the supply to the connected loads. This happens so fast (less than 20 milliseconds) that computers and other electronic equipment will continue to operate without disruption. The second output is live only when AC is available on one of the inputs of the Quattro. Loads that should not discharge the battery, such as air-conditioning or a water heater, can be connected to this output.

PowerAssist - boosting power:

Just like the Victron Multi family, the Quattro is equipped with PowerAssist. Where peak power is so often required only for a limited period, the Quattro will make sure that insufficient mains or generator power is immediately compensated by power from the battery. When the load reduces, the spare power is used to recharge the battery.

Parallel or three phase capability:

Up to ten Quattro units can operate in parallel. Also, up to 10 sets of three units can be parallel connected. This means that there are many different ways to design a system.

System configuring has never been easier:

After installation, the Quattro is ready to go. If settings have to be changed, this can be done in a matter of minutes with new built-in DIP switches. Alternatively, VE.Net can be used instead of the DIP switches. Victron has also developed sophisticated software, which is available to configure new and advanced features.
