LONDON: Regus, the world's largest provider of workplace solutions, is to team up
with Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) to get the world talking. Around
60,000 established and budding entrepreneurs are expected to take part in its
'Speednetwork the Globe' events across 50 countries during Global
Entrepreneurship Week (15 - 21 November 2010).
Over 1,000 events will take place across a 100 hour time period to make
this the world's biggest ever speednetworking experience held to date.
"The week is about creating a buzz around business and enterprise, whilst
inspiring people to think and be more entrepreneurial by unleashing their
ideas and potential.
"Our global partnership with Regus is perfect as they not only provide
professional facilities and business expertise to entrepreneurs, but also
actively support businesses towards success of all sizes and stages
worldwide. 'Speednetwork the Globe' is one of the key events during GEW 2010,
making it central to the campaign," comments Tom Bewick, Chief Executive of
Enterprise UK, the body that co-founded Global Entrepreneurship Week with the
Kauffman Foundation in the United States.
Mark Dixon, CEO of Regus, said: "With the growth of technology and social
media, face-to-face networking is being sidelined; however the importance of
meeting and creating a rapport with someone should never be underestimated.
These events are a unique way of connecting with people. I wish I'd had
access to such an incredible opportunity to connect with like minded
individuals on a global level when I first started out in business."
The innovative project is one of the events featured during the third
Global Entrepreneurial Week, which is coordinated by the Kauffman Foundation
and Enterprise UK. The previous two Global Entrepreneurial Weeks attracted 10
million people in 102 countries taking part in 50,000 individual events.
