BEIJING: The New York Yankees has announced the signing of China-based company
Uni-President Enterprises (China) to a four-year sponsorship agreement in the
instant-noodle category. Uni-President is utilizing the sponsorship of the
Yankees to support the QSL China Baseball League (CBL) of which it is the
major sponsor.
In conjunction with this partnership, the Yankees will make a donation to
the QSL Youth Sports Development Foundation. Organized under Project Hope and
founded by QSL Sports Chairman Kenny Huang, it is the largest children's
sports-related charitable organization in China.
Uni-President supports the growth of baseball in China through its
relationship with QSL Sports. QSL operates the China Youth Baseball League
together with the Chinese Baseball Association (CBA). In May 2010, the CBA
announced QSL as its exclusive partner to manage the China Baseball League
(CBL), China's only official professional baseball league.
As part of the agreement, Uni-President will receive field-level signage
located between first-base and the right-field foul pole. Additionally,
Uni-President's instant-noodle product will be featured in a full-page
advertisement in the Yankees' official game program, Yankees Magazine, and in
the official New Era Pinstripe Bowl game program.
Uni-President established operations in China in 1992. Since then, it has
become one of China's largest manufacturers of instant noodles. It is the
Mainland China subsidiary of Uni-President Enterprises, the largest processed
foods producer in Taiwan.
