Even as terror attacks try to derail the country's economic growth, we need to show resilience and not cow down to these cowardly activities that need to condemned.

The recent serial blasts in Bengaluru and Ahmedabad indicate that terrorists are targeting the nerve centres of the country in their failed bid to cripple the economy.

I feel the blasts will not have any impact on the business and investment climate of the country which is poised for growth. Yes, the incidents may dampen investors' confidence, but investors, both Indian and foreign, are mature enough to know that the terror threat exists everywhere and they have to move ahead regardless.

There is no doubt that investors will come out of this temporary dampening effect and continue to move forward.

Having said that, if the attacks recur, it could be a matter of serious concern. I think the authorities need to take certain drastic measures now. Deploying adequate industrial security networks in major industrial and financial hubs of the country can be one option to ward off heinous act of terror.

We also need to strengthen the intelligence system of the country. The fact that there was major intelligence failure can by no means be sidelined.

Politicians too need to stop playing dirty games and come together to focus on preparing comprehensive anti-terror policies. We need to have zero-tolerance policies to ensure that such conspiracies are nipped in the bud.

Above that, Indian citizens too have to understand that the inconvenience caused due to heightened security measures is for their own good.

However it is really commendable that the people of both cities have shown a rare brand of courage. It is this resilient spirit of Indian Industry that keeps it going even in the face of adversities.

As always, despite the various hurdles faced by the industry - be it rising inflation or input costs, shrinking global markets or even natural calamities - the industry has emerged stronger and the steadfastness and confidence shown by the industry have been remarkable. We salute this resilient spirit of India Industry!

Do you agree if I fear that it can be China using Pakistan army/agents/terrorists to defame Indian Industrial sectors/ zones as Bangalore, Hyderabad, Gujarat states in whole are emerging as a great threat to China's trade prospects. Bangalore, Hyderabad are emerging as not only software hubs, but also hardware and electronics (micro electronics) hub and Surat, Ahmedabad as Textile and Diamond hubs. Like, only very less Indian industries invest in Bihar state (due to law & order problem), foreign companies/ MNCs will resist/ hesitate to invest in India like Pakistan.

Resilient India

We have a lot to learn from the Chinese who have taken considerable measured risks re aligning their priorities in order to achieve the incredible enviable economic and security success they enjoy today. Where India has enjoyed decades of democratic government and its institutions even though much of it has been hampered by the politics and caevats of caste, communal and religious bigotry, the Chinese enjoyed none of India's freedoms or traditions and opportunities for international commerce for 4 decades. From a repressive background devoid of our superior technological and educational platforms acquired during the post independent years, they have taken those bold steps of shedding much of the irrelevant cultural baggage that we remain tied to, to catapult themselves to being the envy of the world. Unless as a community of Indians we are prepared to live and let live and not create ghettos of caste and economic have nots, each step forward India takes will be hampered by the ten steps its communal cultural and political baggage will force it to take backwards. To thrive there must be social responsibility and a sense of unity. Only government has the legal authority to ensure it happens. As for the rest the moral authority to achieve this is the duty of each and every citizen. Otherwise the opportunity for creating the economic prosperity of social and political violence will result and Indians will be losers again.

Do you mean "bow down" not cow down, or was that a deliberate pun?

Hi all, I agree with the views of the Editor. Being a businessman myself I believe that the government has to take steps to see that ugly incidents such as those in Jaipur, Bangalore and Ahmedabad never repeat. If the government does not have a strong security cover in place, the country will soon lose foreign investments and our overseas clients too will distance themselves from us.

The Spirit of India Inventiveness

I have read recently in http://peswiki.com/index.php/Directory:Water_Fueled_Car_-_Sri_Lanka of the excellent invention developed in Sri Lanka. It is a technology that should be very useful for reducing the need of imported diesel and petrol in India. An off-shoot of this technology would be in the production of electric power. adrianakau2aol.com

DEAR BIKKY YOU WILL FIND THAT, ALL MUSLIMS ARE NOT TERRORISTS. BUT ALL TERRORISTS ARE MUSLIMS. THE CONGRESS GOVERNMENT FROM THE DAYS OF NEHRU ADOPTED VOTE BANK CULTURE AND APPEASMENT OF MINORITIES. TODAY ALSO THIS THINGS ARE FOLLOWED RELIGIOUSLY BY THE ALL POLITICAL PARTIES EXCEPT BY BJP TO CERTAIN EXTENT. INCIDENTLY ALL THESE MINORITIES LIVE IN HAMLETS AND POCKETS WITH A PLACE OF WORHSIP BUILT THERE. ITS LIKE, KERALA, HYDRABAD, BHIWANDI, MUMBRA, MALEGAON AND MANY STATES ALIKE. THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD STOP APEASEMENT AND ERRECT POLICE STATIONS IN THE ALL THE MINORITY AREAS FOR POLICING THOUGH IT MAY LEAD TO PROTEST BY THEM LIKE, INDULGING IN PREIVACY ETC. IN CASE THE POLICE IS NOT ABLE TO ARMY CAN BE DEPLOYED DURING PEACE TIMES IN THIS VULNARABLE AREAS. THIS IS THE ONLY SOLUTIONS TO CHECK THE NERFARIOUS ACTIVITIES UNDERTAKEN BY THESE PEOPLE DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY WITH THE HELP OF POLITICIANS. REGDS S. GANAPATHY
